01 / THE BRAND

One platform. A bigger toolbox.

1993: the parent company

EGO belongs to Chervon, whose business began in 1993. That is the parent company’s founding date—not EGO’s launch date. Chervon history ↗

2014: the POWER+ platform

Chervon dates EGO POWER+’s introduction to 2014. By our October 2026 check, its brand page described a system of 100+ tools across lawn care, snow, and more. Brand story ↗

A note on the dates

EGO’s European history page gives a 2012 U.S. launch and 2014 European launch; Chervon gives 2014 for the POWER+ platform. Official accounts differ, so we attribute the dates rather than treating them as interchangeable. The 100+ figure describes product breadth, not sales growth. European history ↗

02 / THE BATTERY

Ah is capacity. Wh is energy.

Same platform. Different capacity.

EGO’s 56V ARC Lithium batteries share the POWER+ platform. More Ah generally means more stored energy at that voltage. It doesn’t promise more torque or a fixed runtime.

Two packs. One job.

Peak Power combines two packs. Two 7.5Ah batteries provide 15Ah total at the shared platform voltage. Using EGO’s published ratings, that is 840Wh—not a 112V system.

What’s inside?

Ah measures electrical charge; voltage × Ah estimates energy in watt-hours. EGO lists a 7.5Ah pack at 420Wh. Its ARC layout, heat-managing material, and cell monitoring help manage temperature and power delivery. Battery age, cold, load, and controls still affect usable energy. A compatible small pack may not match the performance of the recommended pair. Battery ratings ↗ Battery technology ↗

03 / MOVING SNOW

One stage or two?

Single-stage: gather + throw

The spinning auger gathers snow and throws it through the chute. EGO’s 21-inch machines suit tighter spaces; the SNT2120AP adds auger-assisted forward movement.

Two-stage: gather → launch

An auger feeds a separate impeller that launches the snow. EGO’s 24- and 28-inch machines add powered wheel drive. Our calculator favors these for wet, heavy conditions.

04 / WHAT’S NEW

Fresh details. Familiar batteries.

21″ SNT2120 / SNT2124

A push single-stage with adjustable skid shoes, a folding handle, and up to 42-foot throwing distance. SNT2124 includes two 6Ah packs. This is distinct from the auger-propelled SNT2120AP. Explore ↗

24″ SNT2420 / SNT2425

14-inch airless tires, a combined chute-direction/pitch joystick, and powered forward/reverse drive. SNT2425 includes two 7.5Ah packs. The older SNT2410 XP separately offers heated grips and trigger-controlled steering. Explore ↗

Battery access & the “New” badge

The SNT2420’s angled battery-bay opening is visible in EGO’s product photography; no measured access or runtime benefit is claimed here. “New” follows EGO’s current labels for SNT2124 and SNT2425, checked October 21, 2026. It does not assert a launch year. Battery-bay photo ↗ Current lineup ↗ XP features ↗

05 / WHERE TO BUY

Start with an authorized seller.

EGO’s U.S. finder lists Lowe’s, Ace Hardware, independent dealers, and service locations. Check the exact kit, included batteries, local stock, and seller before buying.
